Free Yisrael — How to delete your account and your data
Last updated: 16 July 2026
This page explains how to delete your Free Yisrael account and what happens to your data when you do. It is published so that anyone can find it without installing the app, as required by Google Play's data deletion policy.
App: Free Yisrael (iOS and Android)
Developer: Justin Bell
Contact: justinbell@hyphyclub.com
Delete it yourself, in the app
- Open Free Yisrael and sign in.
- Go to the More tab.
- Tap My Account.
- Tap Delete account and confirm.
Your account is deleted immediately. There is nothing to wait for and nobody to ask.
If you cannot get into the app
Email justinbell@hyphyclub.com from the email address your account is registered to, with the subject "Delete my account". We will confirm and delete the account within 30 days of receiving the request.
If you write from a different address we may not be able to prove the account is yours, and we will ask you for something that does.
What gets deleted
Deleting your account removes:
- Your sign-in (email address and password).
- Your profile — full name, date of birth, phone number, username, Hebrew name, display name, profile picture, and membership status.
- Your messages in the community space, and your channel memberships.
- Your device push tokens and notification preferences.
- Your Bible bookmarks, highlights, and saved glossary words.
- Your blocks.
What is kept, and why
- Recipes and posts you authored stay in the community library, but they are unlinked from you — your name no longer appears on them, and they cannot be traced back to your account. They stay because other members rely on them.
- Files you previously uploaded (recipe photos and PDFs, message attachments) may remain in file storage after your account is gone. Email justinbell@hyphyclub.com and we will remove them.
- Moderation records of any report made about content that broke the rules may be retained where we need them to keep the community safe or to comply with the law.
- Backups held by our hosting provider (Supabase) may hold a copy for a short period after deletion, before they roll off on their normal schedule.
Retention
Apart from the exceptions above, nothing is kept. We do not retain a shadow copy of a deleted account, and we do not keep your data to "reactivate" you later.
Full detail on what the app collects is in the Privacy Policy.
